I have lived on Lake Norman 10 years now so I am no longer a transplant but officially a "local".  As a GA girl (GO DAWGS!)  who grew up boating on Lake Lanier, we set out to find a lake home when we moved to NC.  My husband, Dale and I fell in love with Lake Norman.  We have 3 children (Kylie 17, Reid 10 and Brett 6) who are out on the lake with us somewhere between Red Marker 22 at Windemere Island and the Boathouse at Midway!  Look for Reid's "flying tube" video on YouTube!

I always wanted to live on a lake fulltime - especially one that never freezes!

With degrees in journalism & landscape design, I've lived & traveled all over the northeast as a broadcaster, journalist & photographer. Eventually when my husband & I grew tired of dealing with ice & snow, out of a whole country full of possibilities, we picked the Lake Norman area for its climate & lifestyle. 

 

Our dream was to build a log home on the water, and this is exactly what we did, first finding the land, then designing the home ourselves with one of this area's wonderful builders. It was the experience of a lifetime.
